Nose: Waxy with a bitter leatheriness lifted by dried citrus peel, a hint of tropical fruit and sticky strawberry or even chilli jam.
Palate: Lots of fresh tropical fruit – pineapple and mango, then dense fruitcake packed with currants and toasted nuts, cinnamon and nutmeg. More dry, bitter leather and black pepper with a green, almost hoppy lift.
Finish: Earthy and leathery with chewy dried pineapple.
Conclusion: The quirky, moody whisky of the collection. Perfect if you like the strong, silent types.
