Named in honour of Penfold’s legendary winemaker from 1948 to 1975, Max Schubert, this is a fitting tribute, with its vibrant dark-fruited nose, dried rosemary and hints of blood orange, the palate offers rich, ripe complexity, balanced by a fresh blueberry acidity, with mocha and vanilla pod from the well-integrated oak, ripe tannins and long finish. A big wine that’s beautifully balanced.
