Alessandro Serughetti, Luna Buona Etna Rosato 2022

Cristina Mercuri

Alessandro Serughetti and his wife Loredana decided to invest in an ancient vineyard located in the northern slope of Etna some years ago. The production is still limited but it is already showing the great talent of the winemaker. The rosé is medium-onion skin in colour due to a short maceration (five to eight hours) that has helped extract texture as well as cranberry and violet aromas. Fermentation and ageing are in inert vessels in contact with the lees to give a more voluminous mouthfeel. The palate is dense and slender, with a dry smoky finish. A very good rosé that can be drunk now or cellared for a further three-to-five years.
