Tenuta San Guido, Guidalberto, Tuscany, Italy 2019

Tenuta San Guido, Guidalberto 2019

RRP £28.30

Tank sample, to be bottled late February 2021. Attractive, savoury, spicy nose. Meaty, savoury palate with sweet damson notes and a robust minerality. The tannins are granular, grippy, the fruit crunchy, the whole round, fresh, opulent with tongue-tingling acidity, a bit tight at the moment. It has a good, dry finish with some juice which will definitely freshen and loosen the whole. It’s an excellent wine, well-made, and with structure and acidity to last, but – for now – lacks the charm of its big sister Sassicaia and little brother Le Difese.
