Georges de Latour “Special Burgundy”

Beaulieu Vineyard, Georges de Latour “Special Burgundy”, 1968

This Gamay (or Valdiguié) is from a box in André Tchelitscheff’s private library.

Nose deep and charming, fresh, sweet, with top note of aniseed. Fantastic palate, mouthwateringly juicy, grippy sweet live tannins – there’s a savouriness to it, an animal-skin tang, hugely impressive, balanced and delicious.
