Released in 2023, this is made up of blended-at-birth rums aged first in ex-bourbon casks for 10 years then given four years in ex-Sherry casks. The nose is heady yet sweet, with fig, mulberry, and rum-and-raisin chocolate, with Olde English marmalade on the back. Water brings out more blue fruits, along with butterscotch and crystallised ginger. Highly concentrated in the mouth: raisin, plump black fruits, supple tannins and a hint of oxidation. Powerful, with supple tannins that add just enough structure. On the end, you get earthiness, treacle pudding, black cherry and a balancing bitterness.
