Flor de Caña is a family-owned rum brand that aims to be as sustainable in its production as possible. With roots going back to 1890, it makes rums using its own estate-grown sugar cane. The rums are certified both carbon-neutral and fair-trade. This one has a distinctly woody aroma, with a good amount of oak spice, rich leather and coffee notes. The palate is dry and welcoming, with a good texture and some notes of vanilla, liquorice and nutmeg. The long finish gives ginger, sandalwood and forest-floor notes.
