Lush aromas of caramelised orange, flambéed banana and creamy vanilla. It takes a while to open up, and with time Victoria sponge and French pastry arrive. On the palate, this is rich, with banana bread and cherry jam. Other vibrant flavours – prickly pear and zesty orange – appear. There is a sweet nuttiness of candied pecans. The finish is bright and enduring, with waves of citrus peel and a long, lingering sweetness. This is a very well-balanced expression.
