Costa Russi

Gaja, Costa Russi, Barbaresco 1993

Slightly dull medium cherry colour, orange rim. Expressive nose of mushrooms, prunes, cabbage and dry figs, with herbaceous notes and hints of potpourri, graphite and green coffee beans. The palate is medium-bodied, austere with high acidity, and slightly unbalanced. Short finish, without the complexity of the nose. The difficult vintage is reflected in the evolution of the wine, which lacks a certain degree of ripeness.
