Haunting and concentrated fragrances of eau-de-vie-like fruitiness that carry over to the palate to join notes of tart cherry conserve and a hint of carbon and whey on the finish. The overall effect is concentrated fruitiness with plenty of dusty tannins. The flavours are distinctively Pinot Noir, but the structure is more of what one might expect from Bordeaux – but the overall effect is marvellous.
