Penfolds Bin 704
Red wine

Penfolds, Bin 704 Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

RRP £60

Succulent aromas leap out of the glass, sweet red fruit, very bright and appealing. There’s also a savouriness, a hint of sea breeze that gives me high hopes of salinity on the palate. The tannins are velvet and spice supporting fine classic Cabernet dark fruits and dry herbs, and that brilliant ozone-tinged acidity which releases a wash of juice at the end palate. It’s restrained; the tannins that seem soft at first tighten towards the end; approachable now but should be left alone for a couple of years. Supple and delicious.
