The famed wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros & Rudd has long been bottling spirits from around the world. With this release, it has sourced a cask of rum from the Diamond Distillery in Guyana, a truly complex site that can produce a number of styles. Here we find a rum with a huge amount of poise that gives Foam Banana penny sweets on a full-bodied nose, with a good backbone of spirit and soft tropical fruit (papaya flesh). The palate shows pickled ginger, black banana, banoffee pie and crèpe Suzette. The finish has crème brûlée topping and tiramisu, along with earthy manuka honey. Very dry.
