Pommery, Apanage Blanc de Noirs Champagne NV

RRP £55

Blanc de noirs might be a trendy style right now but it is a tough game, and many of them end up being heavy and lifeless. Pommery’s new non-vintage blanc de noirs is a welcome exception. The delicate colour has peachy hues. On the nose, the first notes are of soft, vanilla-laden red apple and wild strawberry. Then surfaces gentle spiciness alongside orange and yellow plum fruitiness. The palate is aptly plush and fleshy, delicately textured and softly bubbling. Very correct, fresh and lively mouthful, possessing the fine gastronomic qualities of a good blanc de noirs.
